To all in our Tuesday's Children community,

In this extraordinary year, marking 20 Years of Service to our community, Tuesday's Children is proud to honor and celebrate the children with whom we've had the privilege to grow up. We reflect on how, in the past two decades, our mission has grown to provide services to more than 42,000 individuals, including America's Gold Star families.

While we are looking back on the past 20 years, we are most excited to look forward to a full calendar of special events. We hope everyone in our community will have the opportunity to get involved – from our Virtual Gala (more details coming soon!) to our Rise Up and Remember: Memorial Day 5K and the simple act of lighting a light in memory of a loved one.

Our families remain at the core of everything we do and this year we look forward to continuing our journey together.

With much gratitude for your continued support,

Terry
Your Impact
As we look ahead to an exciting year of programs, events and celebrating Tuesday's Children's 20 Years of Service, we look back on the successes of 2020. While the pandemic took a toll on the families we serve – families who have already experienced immense trauma and hardship – it is because of your support that we could adapt our programs and services to meet their changing needs.

Youth from around the globe shared their stories of resilience and built connections during Project COMMON BOND. Gold Star parents and spouses joined 9/11 families for eight weeks of inspiring Creative Insight classes. All members of our Tuesday's Children community showed up for an array of virtual field trips, career workshops and any chance to see another smiling face, even if from behind a screen.
Mentoring Match Spotlight: Kaida and Ariel
Kaida, who is 12 years old, prioritizes helping her mom, Kim, take care of family before her own needs. Kim was eager to find Kaida a mentor to help her just be a kid and enjoy her passions. From Taekwondo to anime and acting, there is a lot that brings Kaida joy! She was recently paired up with Ariel, who made it her mission to share experiences with Kaida and meet her on the set of one of her movie shoots.

Ariel, a Marine Corps veteran who lives in Virginia, quickly bonded with Kaida over their shared love of the anime series My Hero Academia and the K-pop music group, BTS. While they have some differing opinions, as Ariel prefers fantasy books and Kaida loves history, they are both eager to learn about each other's interests and grow closer as time goes by.

As if the connection wasn't already obvious, Kim told Ariel at their first meeting, "I want to be your friend too!" The duo plans to connect regularly over FaceTime and Ariel recently drove up to Virginia to meet Kaida on a movie set in New Jersey!

New Donor Relations Manager: Julia Masucci
Julia has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 20 years. Prior to Tuesday's Children, she most recently led planned giving, board development/administration and stewardship efforts for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and previously held fundraising program management roles for two animal welfare organizations (PAWS CT and Bide-A-Wee).

Julia has a BA in Political Science and Urban Affairs from Manhattan College and an MPA in nonprofit management from NYU's Wagner School of Public Service. This past year, she became a Certified Nonprofit Professional through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Additionally, she ensures that planned gifts are secured and recognized to help donors create legacies that can have an impact today and for generations to come.

State Farm

Thank you to State Farm, whose continued support of Tuesday's Children allows our Long-Term Youth Mentoring and Career Resource Center Programs to thrive. From hosting virtual career panels and financial workshops, to participating in our Take Our Children to Work Day initiative, and three grants – in New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas – totaling over $150,000, their efforts have truly made a difference in the lives of the families we serve.

We are extremely grateful for their involvement and look forward to future collaborations to support families who have been forever changed by terrorism, military conflict or mass violence.
Community Fundraiser Spotlight:
Feltman's of Coney Island: Jimmy Quinn Mets Game
Jimmy Quinn, who was killed in the 9/11 terror attacks, was the ultimate #1 die-hard New York Mets fan. Every year since his death, the Quinn family (the owners of Feltman's of Coney Island) have gathered at Citi Field for the annual Jimmy Quinn Mets Game.

This past September 11th, the New York Mets took on the Toronto Blue Jays. Feltman's fans around the nation gathered in front of their televisions to watch and celebrate Jimmy's life and greatest passion.

Feltman's generously donated 100% of the proceeds from the 2020 event to Tuesday's Children, raising a total of $3,000 in support of our work. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and look forward to (hopefully) honoring Jimmy's memory this year together at the ballpark.
