Featured New Legislation

November 16 - Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), and Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) introduced the SMART Energy Act (S.3214) to promote domestic energy production, to require onshore oil and natural gas lease sales, development of renewable energy on public lands, and offshore oil and natural gas and wind lease sales.

November 15 - Sen. Jon Ossof (D-GA) introduced the Industrial Energy-Efficient Technology Act of 2021 (S.3205) to establish an advanced industrial facilities deployment program and a state flex-tech energy program.

November 12 - Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY-20) and Rep. David McKinley (R-WV-1) introduced the bipartisan Clean Hydrogen Deployment Act of 2021 (H.R.5965) to direct the Secretary of Energy to establish a pilot program to enter into contracts for payment of costs associated with using eligible hydrogen.

November 8 - Rep. Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA-11) introduced the Jobs for a Carbon Free Transportation System Act (H.R.5896) to incentive innovative transportation corridors to reduce carbon and GHG emissions, to provide a tax structure that allows for certain investments in public transportation systems, and to enable the fossil fuel workforce to transition to sustainable work sectors.

November 5 - Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA-03), Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA-2), and Rep. Jack Bergman (R-MI-1) introduced the bipartisan Biomass and Biogas for Electric Vehicles Act (H.R. 5899) to direct the EPA to provide for the generation of renewable identification numbers under the renewable fuel program for electricity from renewable biomass.
