ATS membership weighs in on proposed Standards

The Redevelopment Task Force has received more than 120 comments from the ATS membership since the first public draft of the proposed Standards of Accreditation was released on December 2. Read more.

Lake Institute study highlights changes in US congregations' participation
and giving 
Although fewer Americans are claiming a religious affiliation and the percentage of individuals who are members of a congregation is declining, more US congregations saw increases in participation and giving than experienced declines, according to a new study from Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI. to premiere Revolution of the Heart: The Dorothy Day Story

Journey Films, a television and film production company specializing in religion, faith, and spirituality, recently completed its latest documentary--Revolution of the Heart: The Dorothy Day Story--to begin airing on public television in March. Martin Doblmeier, award-winning filmmaker and founder of Journey Films, answered questions about the film in a recent interview with ATS. Read more.  
 
Lilly Endowment launches national initiative to help congregations thrive
Lilly Endowment Inc. invites organizations that support Christian congregations to participate in a national initiative to strengthen churches by helping them adapt to rapid changes affecting their ministries. Read more. 
 
Engage ATS promotes networking and peer learning for membership 
The ATS Board of Directors recently affirmed a strategic priority to broaden and deepen engagement across the ATS membership. In response, the Association launched Engage ATS in September 2019, inviting those who serve ATS schools to network with one another, to share important resources, to generate community conversations on issues relevant to particular areas of work, and to dialogue with colleagues on a range of topics in theological education. ~ 2020 ATS/COA Biennial Meeting ~   
Book your hotel and travel now for this year's biennial meeting, which will focus on the redevelopment of the ATS Commission Standards and Procedures. A preconference for chief academic officers will also be held. Registration for both events opens in March. Learn more.

ATS Programs and Services offers educational events and resources to assist member schools with best practices, development of peer networks, production of research, and exploration of data. The Commission on Accrediting of ATS accredits the schools and approves the degree programs.
