SHOP AND DRIVE--THIS SATURDAY!

PLEASE NOTE:

Currently, we only have a few people signed up to volunteer to pack boxes and help support our Shop and Drive event on Saturday. Unfortunately, we may need to cancel both if we don't have at least eight volunteers to help. If you are available between 9AM-1PM please consider volunteering for our Comfort and Care Package Program. Thanks in advance!

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN OUR SHOP AND DROP LAST WEEKEND!

Thank you to Jewel-Osco in Downers Grove for hosting our Shop and Drop last weekend and thank you to our volunteers who set up the tables and worked with the shoppers. In total, we received over 250 pounds of items for our Comfort and Care Package Program and over $600 in donations!

LET'S GO OVER THE EDGE FOR THE PROGRAMS OF OSOT-AMERICA!

On Friday, September 11th we will have our Over The Edge VIP rappelling in the afternoon/early evening and on September 12th we will have our fundraising rappellers from 8 AM- 5 PM at Hotel Arista in Naperville.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

There are many ways you can volunteer--here are a few ideas:

Do you have artistic, carpentry, or woodworking skills? Please email us and let us know as we need your help on a few projects! Please email us by CLICKING HERE and we can discuss some ideas we have!
Make neck coolers for the troops! CLICK HERE for detailed directions. We have plenty of beads at the warehouse. If you would like to make the neck coolers and would like the beads please email Sue by CLICKING HERE and she can set up a date and time for them to be picked up.
Christmas Stockings and Ornaments Needed We need volunteer help to make ornaments and stockings (we have patterns available) for our Christmas Stocking Program that starts this fall. We do have a pattern available that we can mail out to you for the stockings--email us at info@osotamerica.org with the address you would like us to mail it to.
Make paracord bracelets for our troops, CLICK HERE for a video tutorial.
Like to knit? Knit hats and scarves for our troops to give them a comfort from home that we can add to the Comfort and Care Packages. We are currently working with one of our volunteers who is very knowledgeable and has already made many scarves with her group! CLICK HERE for updated guidelines she has shared with us. Kids can write letters, draw pictures and make cards for our Comfort and Care Packages. This is an item that troops are always appreciative of because they feel supported by the patriotic community. CLICK HERE for more information.

LETTER OF THE WEEK

Thank you for the great care packages. They came at a time when we were running low on supplies- we are towards the end of our deployment and we try to keep our bags as light as possible. These packages found their way to a Forward Surgical Team from Fort Bragg. When we aren't jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, we work in the hospitals and field exercises perfecting our craft. We are comprised of surgeons, CRNAs (anesthesia ), nurses, medics, scrub techs, and our XO (executive officer). It's been almost 7 months for of us and we are all looking forward to seeing our loved ones again. Thank you for the great snacks, toiletries, and hand written letters.

Granite City Fundraiser--Friday, July 10th, Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th from open to close. Eat lunch or dinner at Granite City in Naperville or order curbside pickup and they will donate 20% of proceeds back to OSOT-America. CLICK HERE for the flyer!
