MIDTERM RUNOFF ELECTION RESULTS...
AND WHAT THEY COULD MEAN FOR NOVEMBER AND BEYOND
Tuesday, July 14th was an important night in Texas politics. The Covid-19 delayed primary run-offs finally happened, as well as a special election for Texas Senate District 14 (Austin). These elections are always interesting because pundits and politicos use the data to try to predict the November elections. Run-offs are generally hard to decipher because only a small percentage of voters vote usually, so a candidate's ability to convince people to actually go to the poles is usually a large factor in who wins. This year, given the pandemic scare, these election outcomes were even more important to glean information from.
