Dear CCGS Families,
We had a very quick and short week, but so much learning and fun took place. This week I visited a small group of second graders who are doing eLearning and I was so impressed with their independence and how much they have grown as readers! Ms. Prentice's class and I had a great time playing What Time is it Mr. Fox? My legs hurt the next day, which told me I need to get out and run again! In Ms. Pynenberg's class students were working on their counting and writing numbers. They are working so hard! Ms. Foster's reading group was so fun to watch. Her students are blossoming and using so many strategies. Ms. Johnson is utilizing every minute with her students and teaching them all of the tech tools that will help them find new books and be successful.
Please add any October pictures you take to this album. I use the photos you share in our monthly video and newsletters.

I hope you have a great weekend with your family!
Mrs. Hamm

This student was so excited to be our shout out school prize winner! He got a special pencil and will be our pledge leader all of next week. To watch the pledge from home each day please visit our Google website.
Congratulations to our Golden Platter Winner of the week! Ms. Blair's classroom was chosen this week for following the 4 school cornerstones during recess and lunch.
Ms. Curran's Classroom Highlight
Fall has been off to a great start for our class! We enjoyed learning about different inventors and having the opportunity to create our own inventions and prepare it as a “Shark Tank” proposal. Our research and notetaking skills are now being applied to learning about National Monuments. It is intriguing learning about the National Forests, Landmarks, and Monuments. The information we collect will be used for writing our first research paper.
In writing, we had enjoyed creating a dialogue piece in which the students pretended to be picking out a pumpkin at a pumpkin patch and the pumpkin started talking to them. We all had a lot of laughs with this! Math has been exciting as we are learning different ways to multiply and different properties to help us figure out the challenging problems. As a class, we are enjoying The One and Only Ivan! We are anxious to find out what happens to the animals in our story! All of us are doing amazing with the new learning requirements and it’s great to be in the classroom with them!
Ms. Curran
