Giving Tuesday

One action united with another multiplies, and that’s how real change happens. When you partner with United Way of Northeast Louisiana, your investment has a lasting impact on the education, health, and financial stability of thousands of people in Northeast Louisiana. Hear from three of these people in our 2021 Campaign Video: https://youtu.be/lSsZ1CfTC3E.

Are you ready to join the fight for a healthier, safer, and better community for all?

98.5% of our dollars are invested back into the community we all love.

Thank you for choosing to LIVE UNITED. We can't do this work without you.

Golf Tournament Results from Drax Biomass

On October 15th, our friends at Drax Biomass hosted a golf tournament at Frenchman’s Bend to raise money for their United Way campaign.

This month, we received the news that they raised a total of $8,000 for our community!
Also, their corporate office in London gave an additional $1,300 after being inspired by the local support.

Campaign 2021: Louisiana National Bank

Each year, Louisiana National Bank partners with United Way to support the efforts in our local communities.

The Workplace Campaign kicks off each year in November. After many years of involvement with United Way, Louisiana National Bank is proud to give its employees the opportunity learn more about the organization.

During this campaign, employees are given the opportunity to contribute financially to United Way. Anyone who completed a pledge form and donated at least one hour’s pay per month will receive an additional 8 hours of PTO in 2022.

Cookies with the United Way logo were baked and decorated by Crumb’s Catering and given to each employee.

Louisiana National Bank employees, thanks for going the extra mile to support the work United Way is doing in your community. We're proud to LIVE UNITED with you!
Campaign 2021: Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office

Our friends at the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office kicked off their FIRST United Way Campaign on Tuesday, November 9th with a presentation by United Way NELA staff in the new JPSO Training Room. A second meeting was held on Wednesday, November 10th.

Information about United Way and the campaign was also left on each desk asking employees to consider helping to help each other.

“We have been given an opportunity through partnership to help both the United Way and the people inside of our community," said Campaign Coordinator Stephen Watts.

We are so thrilled to that JPSO is modeling what it means to LIVE UNITED in their community!

Faces of 211:
Monica Bayless

This month's Face of 211 is Monica Bayless. Monica serves as our 211 Resource Specialist.

Monica began her career with 211 on May 26, 2016 as an intern through Louisiana Delta Community College. She started as a Call Specialist, eventually moving on to maintain the 211 Resource Database.

Because she enjoyed her work with 211 so much, Monica became a part of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana/211 Team as a full time 211 Resource Specialist in 2017. She is responsible for maintaining the quality and accuracy of the 211 database by connecting with community organizations and resource providers to verify the vital services that they provide for the communities we serve in Northeast Louisiana.

Monica says the most rewarding thing she has experienced through her role is "sharing information about 211 with the communities we serve, as well as making connections within the community that help individuals and families meet their most immediate needs."

Monica holds an Associate's Degree with concentrations in Applied Science and Health Sciences from Louisiana Delta Community College. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of nine grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking for a crowd, spending time with family and close friends, painting, and fishing.
