What is a
CAKE WALK? It's like Musical Chairs: music starts, you walk around a circle and when music stops you stay on your number card. A number is picked out of the bag, the person standing on the number gets to choose a Consolation Cupcake. The music starts up again.... repeat. 3rd time: music, walk, stop, number picked, and
Ta-Da!!
THIS lucky winner gets to choose a cake from the table! Take it home or share right then! This is a multigenerational activity; join the fun! Cake Walk tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.
Bring a friend! This is not just for our congregation, let's show the larger community what we're all about!

“In Two Voices: A Conversation in Black and White
”
Rev. John Morehouse and Margalie Belizaire, Intern Minister
|
|
This service will explore the issue of race through the lived experience of two of UU Westport's ministers, Rev. John Morehouse, Senior Minister who is white and Margalie Belizaire, Intern Minister who is black. Included in their discussion will be a honest reflection on what it means to enter into a predominantly white congregation from each of their experiences. The conversation will include an exploration of the culture of white privilege and how we might begin to dismantle it. This will be a brave encounter and you are welcome to be a part of it.
