Health practices for returning to campus and Stauffer-Flint Hall
We are looking forward to welcoming back students to campus as safely as possible for the fall semester. Watch this video to understand the health practices required for everyone inside Stauffer-Flint Hall. Students, faculty and staff will be required to obtain a COVID-19 test before returning to campus. Please familiarize yourself with all of the new protocols and important information for the fall semester on the J-School website and protect.ku.edu. Questions? Email jschool@ku.edu.
Faculty and Staff
Welcome, new faculty!
Please welcome the following new faculty to the J-School:
Patricia Weems Gaston, the Lacy C. Haynes Professor of Journalism, and Associate Professor Mugur V. Geana, director of CEHCUP, have agreed to serve as members of the provost's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council. The council will advise the provost in reviewing current policies, procedures and actions to support diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as recommending changes to promote a healthier community at the University of Kansas.
The Kansas Scholastic Press Association and Executive Director Eric Thomas earned a grant to encourage young voters and support student journalists in covering the 2020 election. The grant, from the American Citizenship Project, funds three current and former KU students as interns through November. Those students, Kailey Curtis (j'20), Victoria Garcia and Sarah Grindstaff, have created KSPA Election Force. Please contact KSPA at staff@kspaonline.org if you have ideas for other connections to the effort.
