Atlantic County NJ’s Office of Disability Services is spearheading a countywide project auditing the disabled access of the county’s roadways, buildings, programs, services and policies. This complete analysis is a requirement of local governments under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Group Works for Healthier, Connected Community

Funding from the national “BUILD Health Challenge” kick-started “Forward Franklin,” one of only 19 projects in the nation – and the only small town – to earn the grant. Projects in progress include an outdoor classroom, repairs to a future community center, a walking tour and app, and a mural project.

New Jersey Human Services Announces $44.8 Million More in Additional Food Assistance

An additional estimated $44.8 million will be provided to about 253,000 New Jersey households that receive food assistance through the state's Supplemental Assistance Program. The program serves about 769,000 New Jerseyans in about 395,000 households, with the monthly SNAP benefit based on household size and income.

“We are providing as much food assistance as possible to eligible New Jersey households,” Human Services Commissioner Carole Johnson said. “Our state’s Congressional delegation has worked hard protecting residents as we respond to this pandemic, and these additional food assistance benefits make a difference in the lives of many New Jerseyans.”

Discover what funders are looking for in nonprofits seeking grants and how to find potential funders. You will learn the 10 most important things you need to know about finding grants, including:
  • Who funds nonprofits and what are their motivations.
  • What do funders really want to know about the organizations they are interested in funding.
  • How do you identify potential funders and make the first approach.
  • In-person classes will end with 30 minutes of hands-on, guided online grant research. It is advisable, but not necessary, to bring a laptop/tablet for this portion of the class.
