From the Director of Student Enrichment Services

Those of you who know me know that I am a planner. My team and I spend countless hours brainstorming possible solutions to both real and potential challenges. We work steadfastly through the logistics and the necessary resources, budgets, and timelines — all while constantly considering the benefit to our community and ensuring that we are as transparent and consistent as possible. As you can imagine, COVID-19 has been hard on my planner soul. It’s been hard on all of us.

COVID-19 has taught me and my team to roll with the punches. It has taught us to reevaluate success. With an ever-moving goal post, we have learned to find success in new and creative ways, allowing us to focus on the well-being of our community.

Providing enrichment opportunities has become more important than ever. In this current environment of constant physical and social distancing — of virtual birthday parties and cancelled life events — our students need opportunities to connect with those who share a common interest. They need physical outlets. They need fun and balance. They need risk-taking opportunities while keeping them safe and healthy.

Please know that in this time of uncertainty, when you find yourself helping your children navigate this new world that is strange and foreign to even you, you can rely on your enrichment teams to be thoughtful, caring, and passionate about offering the best and safest outlets possible.

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl,
but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.

We will keep moving forward together.

Letter Jacket Sizing & Ordering
(For Juniors and Seniors and Those Who Lettered in 2019-2020)
As IB students, all Meridian students in the classes of 2021 and 2022 are eligible to order a letter jacket. Additionally, all students who lettered in their extracurricular activity in the 2019-2020 school year can order a letter jacket representing the extracurricular activity in which they lettered. Under normal circumstances, our Letter Jacket partner, Herff Jones, would host a sizing and ordering event on the Meridian campus. However, due to COVID-19, they will be hosting a sizing and ordering event at their office by appointment only on Tuesday, September 15th (3:00-6:00 pm) and Wednesday, September 16th (2:00-5:00 pm). A new digital catalog and ordering packet will be shared soon. Please sign up for your personal sizing and ordering appointment here. Please sign up by 12 pm on Tuesday, 9/15.
