Have you ever been chosen last? Or, not chosen at all? No one enjoys the loneliness and sadness of rejection. The grief and despair of being disregarded can be unbearable. It can make even the strongest and most resolved of us wonder, “Where is God in this? Does God care? Does God understand?” The prophet Isaiah encourages us, “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised...” (Isaiah 53:3, ESV). The cross tells us God understands and is well acquainted with all our experiences of hardship in this fallen life. May we come to Jesus and esteem Him who understands and has shouldered all our rejection, sorrows, and grief.

Ministry Update   Sojourners is the name given to the ministry we began in 2016 as we intentionally opened our doors to Michel. Like so many, Michel had fled the violence of his own home and found a new home with us. Due to the exciting and likely possibility that Michel will soon be reunited with his family of four, we have not yet expanded this ministry. Our goal is to first provide for this dear family and then prayerfully consider expanding this ministry to others. For more information, please contact the coordinator for this ministry, Jack Rusenko at jack@rusenko.com .
