Propane Project of the Year:
One Builder Could Win $10,000
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has launched an exciting awards program for building pros, the Propane Project of the Year awards. The awards will help construction professionals to earn recognition for a recent home or building they've completed - and possibly take home up to $10,000 in prize money.

The Propane Project of the Year program is open to builders, remodelers, architects, engineers, and trade professionals in the United States. Any project completed after January 1, 2016, is eligible.

Propane fuels the amenities that help homes and buildings stand out, such as unique fire features or Instagram-worthy outdoor kitchens, as well as the systems that help projects perform better, such as high-efficiency boilers, furnaces, and water heaters. So, it's only natural for us to recognize the fantastic work that construction professionals are doing to create stunning places with the help of propane.

The entrant will need to provide a short project description, details of the propane-fueled products and design features used, and a few project photos. A panel of talented building experts will judge the entries for project design, project performance, and the use of propane to achieve the project's goals.

Projects in any category are eligible for the $10,000 grand prize. A $1,000 honorable mention prize will be awarded in each of three categories: residential new construction, residential remodeling, and commercial.

Propane marketers, be sure to get the word out to your construction colleagues. The nominating marketer who brings us the grand prize winner, will also earn a $1,000 prize.

The extended deadline is August 30, 2019 .

Duty to Warn Safety Mailing Programs
How the Texas' Program Stands Out
For over a decade, the Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) has implemented its popular Duty to Warning Safety Mailing Program. The program will open early next month, immediately after Labor Day just in time for peak propane usage, the perfect time to reach out to customers about propane safety.

While there are a few different National Duty to Warn Programs that some of you probably get advertisements from other companies, the Propane Council of Texas' Program is unique in a couple different ways.

1) Low Cost. A majority of the costs like the costs of the brochures and postage are incurred by the Propane Council of Texas. Texas propane marketers are only responsible for minimal mailing fees, which include a fulfillment fee of $35 per propane company and list processing fees of . 08 cents per address. Now that's cheap!

2) Texas compliance. In addition to the low cost, the Texas program is unique, because in Texas the Railroad Commission requires that every propane customer be provided with the Limited Liability Consumer Safety Notification statement. ProCOT includes this required specific statement outlined in LP Gas Safety Rule in its Texas Duty to Warn scratch N sniff brochures exclusively available to mailing program participants.

3) Documentation. All ProCOT Duty to Warn participants will receive confirmation package with a mailing summary, postage statement and notarized affidavit attesting to the mailing.

Texas propane companies can start registering for Duty to Warn as early as September 3, 2019 at www.procot.org .

Previous Duty to Warn Safety Mailing participants will receive a Duty to Warn Anniversary reminder when your next mailing is due.
