Analysis of Third and Fourth Year Undergraduate Cybersecurity Curriculum
This White Paper identified curriculum components that occur in the third and fourth year of an undergraduate program. One course is analyzed in comparison with the National CyberWatch curriculum, the Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) Knowledge Units (KUs), and the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs).

Cybersecurity Skills Journal Fellowship Program and Peer Review Workshop
In this workshop members of the Editorial Board will discuss the CSJ's unique constructive review process in which large peer reviewer panels assist authors in developing their research towards a scholarly rigorous, practically relevant publication in the Cybersecurity Skills Journal. You will have the opportunity to meet your fellow peer reviewers, express your interest in leading reviews in topic areas of interest, and form peer review teams with responsibilities assigned for each component of a CSJ publication. Please plan to attend only one of the two sessions, March 10 or March 12.

Cybersecurity Career Insights: Where Did The Time Go with Casey W. O'Brien
National Cybersecurity Student Association (NCSA) is launching a new webcast series called Cybersecurity Career Insights. NCSA will invite professionals in academia, industry, and/or government to share their cybersecurity journeys. Each webcast will start off with a series of questions for the speaker, then open up to a live Q&A with the audience. Join the NCSA on March 10th as Casey W. O'Brien, Assistant Director for Cyber Defense Education and Training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Information Trust Institute, shares his non-linear route into cybersecurity.

Medical Cybersecurity 2021: How Worried Should We Be, and What Can We Do?
Join Owen McNally and EFF-Austin in partnership with the National CyberWatch Center on March 9 for a presentation on and discussion of the dangers hospitals and healthcare providers face regarding securing their patients' personal data from malicious actors. The presentation will explore the value of exfiltrated patient data to hackers and criminals, the significance of the lack of cybersecurity talent and trainers, the problem of assessing current IT cybersecurity readiness, silks, and maturity, and potential solutions to these problems.

Community College Cyber Summit Call for Proposals
Share your cybersecurity expertise and experience with others! The 2021 Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) is looking for proposals for breakout sessions for its upcoming event Nov. 5-7 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Entries can vary in length from half day, one day to one-, two- or three-hours and should fit into one of five tracks: Evidence-Based, Instruction, Practice, Program Development and Student. Proposals are due June 15.

There is a growing number of academic institutions that are experiencing a substantial decline in student enrollment. According to a November 2020 National Student Clearinghouse Research Center survey, there has been a 16.1% drop in freshman enrollment. “Community colleges are showing the steepest decline (-18.9%), almost 19 times the pre-pandemic loss rate, followed by public four-year colleges (-10.5%) and private non-profit four-year institutions (-8.5%)." Academic institutions must find new and creative methods to attract and grow their student enrollment beyond pre-pandemic numbers.
