THIS SATURDAY

9:30am
Join us for our Shabbat morning services every week from 9:30am-10:30am. Our one-hour service is rooted in the traditional chanting of prayers, but includes English readings and song as well so that all can be included. (This service does not include a Torah service.) The service is a lovely, meditative, and peaceful way to start the day. Whether we have five or fifty, we'll be mixing traditional chanting with songs both old and new tunes to create a prayerful space for connection. Also, we will have a Torah Reading along with two baby namings (see the Rabbi's email tomorrow for more information).

10:30am
Torah study with bagels/donuts and coffee will begin at 10:30am and go until Noonish.  Our Torah  Study is a vibrant exchange of ideas about the we ekly Torah portion, bringing both traditional commentary and recent scholarship to bear on the text.  It is a lively salon style, participatory Torah study where all are welcome, and no background or Hebrew is needed.

7:00pm (Let's try Again)
Join us on THIS Saturday evening around the firepit for  campfire songs, barbeque a nd s'mores.  Bring Your Own Food to grill on our grill (no pork/shellfish).  Bring a blanket or folding chairs and some bug spray.  Rabbi has a bunch of American and Hebrew camp-style songs that he can play on guitar, and he'll have the words there too. If you play an instrument and want to join in, please bring it, and if there is a camp song you just love, teach it to us!  At 8:30pm we'll end with a short Havdalah service.
SOCIAL ACTION
CAMPAIGN

Across North America, Jewish communities are taking action and raising money to help those in detention, separated from their families, and those seeking legal asylum.  In visits to the border, one need comes up over and over:  legal help.  In order to help with this, the Jewish communities in Vermont are joining together for a campaign from now to Yom Kippur to raise money for three organizations  (one local, one national, one focused on the southern border) that are providing legal support and bail for those in need.  Click the buttons below for more details about this campaign, or to DONATE today!

Jewish History Study Group
Wednesdays | 11:00am

Award-winning writer Matti Friedman's tale of Israel's first spies has all the tropes of an espionage novel, including duplicity, betrayal, disguise, clandestine meetings, the bluff, and the double bluff-but it's all true.

Mission Statement
We are a diverse, egalitarian, and inclusive community of Jews and interfaith families.  We joyfully embrace Judaism as a way of life through prayer, music, social action, celebrating Jewish holidays, lifelong learning, and life cycle events.  Through these activities, we seek to promote spiritual growth, moral values, and the social welfare of our community.

Vision Statement
Temple Sinai strives to be a joyful, energetic, accepting, innovative, caring, and accessible faith community.  We choose to practice and teach Jewish traditions in our community, so that Jews and Judaism will continue to flourish, both in Vermont and in an ever-changing world.  We believe that support for a safe and prosperous State of Israel is an important part of our Jewish identity.
