Dear River Forest residents,
At the January 10 Village Board meeting, I am happy to report that Tom Gaertner was appointed as Fire Chief by a unanimous vote of the Village Board. His start date will officially be January 18, 2022. He comes to River Forest with a 37 year career in fire service, including almost 30 years with the Broadview Fire Department and serving for 4 years as Chief. We are excited for Chief Gaertner to lead the continued excellence of our Fire Department.
As our nation observes Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this Monday, I encourage residents to attend the National Day of Racial Healing on January 18 and White Accountability Groups starting later this month. Hosted by Dominican University, these are opportunities for the River Forest Community to engage in their Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation efforts. Please also click here to learn more about the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Group, which continues their dedicated work.
Sincerely,
|

Cathy Adduci, Village President

Eligible individuals 18 and older may choose the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Individuals ages 5–17 years old are eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech booster shots are available to everyone ages 18 years and older five months after their initial vaccination series. Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible for a booster shot two months after their initial vaccination.
