Introducing NY Project Hope
NY Project Hope is an emotional support line, and crisis counseling response to the COVID-19 pandemic that is here to help New Yorkers recover from the challenging effects of COVID-19. Crisis counseling is different from traditional counseling in that it is:
  • Community or home-based;
  • Assesses strengths and coping skills;
  • Accepts content at face value;
  • Validates common reactions and experiences; and
  • Does not collect identifying information.

Counselors are understanding and nonjudgmental, and speaking with them is always free, confidential, and anonymous. CLICK HERE to access NY Project Hope resources for connecting, talking, coping, and relaxing. Additionally, CLICK HERE, to view our recent presentation, "NY Project Hope: COVID-19 Mental Health Counseling & Support for Schools", and HERE to download the accompanying PowerPoint.

NY Project Hope is made possible thanks to many great community partners, including the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, Commissioner Michael Orth, and Tori Shaw, Program Coordinator of Children's Mental Health Services. Additionally, a special thanks goes to Brandon Cruz, Supervisor of School Safety & Facilities, Southern Westchester BOCES, for hosting our introductory forum last month.

Please reply to this email with any questions about accessing Project Hope resources for your school community.
