Why we do what we do...

"I had a chair lift installed by Home HealthSmith this past January. They were pretty busy at the time, so the company owner came out to see me himself to explain what they had to offer. I bought a model that they keep in stock and it was installed in no time. I'm very happy with the whole experience of purchasing and installing. But the real test of how good a company is, is when a problem arises. No equipment, no matter how simple and cheap or complicated and expensive is exempt from the occasional factory defect (remember the Hubble telescope?). I had a small part break and at first thought I'd done something. I called and a technician was at my house that morning. He replaced the broken part and then went further to search for a possible reason for the broken part and found this small defective part that was the cause of the other part eventually breaking. I was impressed by their quick service and even more by the thoroughness of not just replacing the broken part, but finding the small defective part that led to the other part breaking. It's nice to have a company that treats you well when things are going well, but it seems like something pretty rare when a company is this good when something goes wrong and you need them to make it right."

5 Issues With Adapting Your Kitchen For Aging In Place

The kitchen is typically one of the rooms in which you spend large amounts of time, whether it be creating a meal for one, or inviting family and friends to join you. When adapting a kitchen for aging in place, it's important for the kitchen to retain that significance, so that you may keep alive those relationships - and create more - while still securing your own comfort and safety.
