Giving Thanks
Visitors to Massachusetts this month get to share our iconic Thanksgiving holiday of giving thanks at meals and community gatherings, a tradition dating back to the Pilgrims. You can enjoy New England Harvest Feasts at Plimoth Plantation, Old Sturbridge Village and various venues found on MOTT's Thanksgiving page. Don't miss America's Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration Parade in Plymouth on Saturday, November 23, the annual lighting of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown on Wednesday, November 27, and the Parade of the Big Balloons in downtown Springfield on November 29.

Featured Region: Southeastern Mass

Kick off the holiday season with a night of musical performances! New Bedford Festival Theatre has been producing shows for 30 years and is putting together a showcase featuring some of their favorite musical numbers. The upcoming show Best of Times on Saturday, November 30 at 7 pm will feature songs from La Cage Aux Folles, Les Miserables and Jekyll and Hyde, just to name a few! Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased at the box office. This spectacular evening will be taking place at the historic Zeiterion Theatre, located in downtown New Bedford on 684 Purchase Street. NBFT is looking forward to this show as a celebration of the arts and guarantees a night of fun surprises for all theatre lovers!

Greater Merrimack Valley

Join us for the 31st Annual City of Lights Holiday Parade at 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 30 in Lowell! More than 10,000 spectators line downtown streets each year in anticipation of Lowell's only nighttime parade. Officially kicking off the holiday season, this signature City of Lowell event brings a contingent of high-stepping marching bands, fabulous holiday-themed floats, spectacular performance groups, and local personalities. Parade route is from Jackson Street to City Hall.

Central Massachusetts

Discover art, music, theater and dance in Worcester! Virtuosity abounds with musical performances hosted by Music Worcester and the Worcester Chamber Music Society. Those ready to get-down and dance will enjoy a one-night resurgence of Studio 54 in the Printer's Building - an eclectic art-hub. Or, be inspired by the art of movement with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. During your trip, make sure to explore one of the many hidden gems located in the city.

Franklin County
The 16th Annual Crafts of Colrain Studio Tour will be held Nov 9-10 from 10 am to 5 pm! Nineteen artisans, makers of products from fine art furniture to artisanal beer, will be opening up their doors to visitors from near and far. You'll be able to see and experience the flying sparks of iron on the forge, and admire winter accessories woven from the fibers of animals grazing right outside the studio where the yarn was spun. Colrain's beautiful pastoral landscape is the off-the-beaten-path backdrop for all this creativity.

Greater Boston
From November 1-January 1, Greater Boston celebrates an eight-week holiday season, when over 125 theater, dance, music, comedy and family performances with thousands of half-priced tickets are made available! Seasonal favorites include Nutcracker ballets, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Revels, The Black Nativity and Holiday Pops. New this year are Dolly Parton's A Smokey Mountain Christmas Carol and Old Town Trolley's Lights & Sights Tour! Cape Cod
The 7th Annual Field of Honor Display (November 8-11) at Johnny Kelly Park in  Dennis is a stunning display of American flags, part of a nationwide tribute to men and women in uniform. From glimmering whimsical characters to shimmering jewel-toned orbs, the hand-blown ornaments at Sandwich Glass Museum's 10th Annual Glassblowers' Christmas (November 15-December 30) give holiday lights a run for their money. And the under-celebrated root vegetable gets its due at the annual Eastham Turnip Festival, (November 23), easily one of the most jubilant food celebrations in America. Paradise City Marlborough (Nov. 22-24) is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. 175 outstanding American artists and master craft makers from 25 states exhibit their newest work at MetroWest's most exciting juried fair. North Shore Music Theatre presents The Bodyguard October 29-November 10, a new musical based on the smash hit film featuring the hits of Whitney Houston. The Saturday parade in downtown Plymouth is history-brought-to-life as Pilgrims, Native Americans, Soldiers, Patriots, and Pioneers proudly climb out of the history books and onto the streets of Plymouth.
