Over 500 Volunteers Unite to Make Huge Impact on Day of Action

On Friday, August 16, more than 500 community volunteers came together to work on 42 service projects at 22 Henderson County schools as part of our annual Day of Action. Projects included painting walls, cleaning playgrounds, mulching, and many more.

"Day of Action represents the very best of what makes our community special," said Bo Caldwell, Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools. "Community partners like United Way and Pardee UNC Health Care are investing in our most precious resource, our children. The success of our schools and students is the product of this support."

This day of service wouldn't have been possible without the partnership of Henderson County Public Schools and Pardee UNC Healthcare, sponsor of Day of Action. Volunteers donated 2,200 hours to improve local schools and make the community a better place. Their time and effort equates to a contribution of $53,218 and makes a significant impact.
