Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County
invites you to experience its first virtual event of 5781:

Looking Back/Moving Forward
Thursday, September 10, 7 p.m.

Join Us! Thursday, September 10 7 pm online where, from the comfort of your home you will see how, over the last six months, Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County and Rockland County’s Jewish community navigated COVID’s uncharted waters and kept the community together. You will see how we worked to help those among us who are most vulnerable. We’ll look at four of the most important areas: food insecurity, caring for the kids, continuing the fight against anti-Semitism, and the ways in which the community was kept together.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Sign up for shul — it’s the new normal

So, the Saturday before last, I went to shul for Shabbat.

It almost sounds like a punchline. But this was the first time I’d been to synagogue since Purim. Back then, in early March, we had no idea what we were in for. I’d sported lab glasses, an N95 mask, and a hazmat suit emblazoned with gold lettering across the back: “I Coughed The Night Away At Stacy’s Bat Mitzvah.” Tasteless, yes; prescient, too.
