"I saw myself as just one of millions of girls around the world who’d been molested, objectified, abused or disregarded by our fathers, uncles, brothers, priests and lovers – a never-ending stream of us, robbed of what was rightfully ours alone to give, our intimate injustices often silenced."
- Gretchen Cherington, Poetic License
A WISE conversation

We are excited and honored to facilitate a Zoom conversation with Gretchen Cherington, author of Poetic License, and Brook Warner, publisher for She Writes Press. Gretchen, a long-time friend of WISE and leader in our communities, released her memoir last month in which she explores growing up in an academic household with a well-known father, complicated relationships, and family secrets.

Please join us on Monday, September 28th at 7:00 pm and we will explore the theme of gendered inequality that runs throughout Poetic License and the publishing world, to ask the question: what stories are we missing?

Register for this exciting event here.

Poetic License may be purchased as part of Gretchen's reading at Norwich Bookstore on September 9th, or at Still North Books & Bar, and Yankee Bookshop.
