Dismissal Feedback
Parents,

It was a fabulous first day at Puster Elementary!

Thank you for your patience with dismissal today. We are aware that we have many more car riders than usual on the first day of school. We anticipate fewer car riders as students begin transitioning to the bus. We will continue to work diligently on our dismissal processes on our end. We would like to offer a few tips for helping us improve the process on your end as well.

If you plan to pick up in car line at the end of the day:
  • Make sure your car tag is hanging from your rearview mirror
  • Practice your car number with your child - the sooner they know their number, the quicker they respond when called
  • Always pull forward to the next available spot
  • If you need to help your child with your car seat, please pull ahead of all of the numbers near the dumpster area - this will allow the line to keep moving while you are parked

If you are planning to arrive early to park in the back lot, please note that cars begin arriving and lining up as early as 2:30 p.m.

In spite of the late arrival of buses to PES, the bus dismissal itself seemed very smooth. The elimination of crosswalk traffic helped tremendously with both pre-K dismissal and safety.

If you haven’t done so already, please go into Dismissal Manager and set your child’s default dismissal option before the end of this week. We will rely solely on this system beginning week 2. Please note that the “Bus #” is actually your child’s “Route #” in the system. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

As always, please do not hesitate to send us additional feedback. Thank you for making it a great start to 2019-2020!

Pride in Puster,
Holly
