Sports Medicine Licensure Clari ty Act Becomes Law  The Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act (H.R 302/S. 808) was signed into law on October 5. Sports medicine professionals can now engage in the treatment of injured athletes across state lines without fear of great professional harm, such as loss of license to practice, while protected from monetary loss with professional liability insurance. Health Impact in 5 Years (HI-5) initiative Success Stories The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Health Impact in 5 Years (HI-5) initiative has released new success stories about how  Georgia  and  North Carolina are increasing physical activity through active transportation options and school-based physical activity. 
New Youth Obesity Data! State of Obesity 2018 Report  Each year, the "State of Obesity: Better Policies for a Healthier America" report highlights the latest obesity trends as well as strategies, policies, programs, and practices that can reverse the epidemic.  New data show that Mississippi has the highest youth obesity rate,  while Utah has the lowest. The new data also confirm that racial and ethnic disparities persist.Is your state helping kids achieve a healthy weight?
