YMCA Flick-n-Float
The YMCA of Ross County hosts their monthly Flick-n-Float on Friday, August 23rd This month's featured film is Disney's "Monsters Academy". The YMCA provides pool noodles, bubbles and floats to use during the event. Pre-registration is preferred but walk-ins are welcome based on availability. This event is open to both members and non-members. 

Sharon Boetcher Memorial UMP Modified Race
35 Raceway in Frankfort hosts the Sharon Boetcher Memorial UMP Modified Race on Saturday, August 24th. This race features 3 wide DTR UMP modifieds $800 to win with 16 or more cars. Gates at the park open at 3pm with races starting at 6:30pm. 



Boogie on the Blacktop
Join the Elks for the last Boogie on the Blacktop for the season on Saturday, August 24th. Music will be performed by Ryan Bonner and Mike Boyle with special appearance by DJ Pretty Ricky. This month's Boogie features a hog roast, sandwiches and side dishes available for purchase. The beer wagon will be stocked. Everyone is welcome to the event but must present a valid ID to receive a wristband for alcohol purchases. 



3 Person Archery Scramble
The Paint Creek Coonhunters Club presents a 3-Person Archery Scramble on Sunday, August 25th. There will be 30 targets during the shoot. Each person will be responsible for 10 scores. Registration is between 8am - 1pm, contestants must be off the course by 4pm.

"New Discoveries at Hopewell Culture NHP" by Dr. Bret J. Ruby
The Robert L. Harness Lecture Series concludes on Tuesday, August 27th with Dr. Bret J. Ruby presenting "New Discoveries at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park." 

Large-scale magnetic surveys and small-scale excavations are revealing hidden Hopewell landscapes. These surveys are revealing remnants of a rich array of ritual architecture in the "empty" spaces between the monuments. This presentation will describe newly discovered ditched enclosures, shrine buildings, workshops, and several timber post circles that may have served as "world center shrines" during the Hopewell period.

The mission of the Ross-Chillicothe Convention and Visitors Bureau is the growth and prosperity of area economic development through tourism. The Bureau's primary focus is to assist, attract and educate residents, travelers, and partners. It will function as an economic driver of the hospitality industry in general through promotion of extended or overnight visits to the areas of Chillicothe and Ross County, Ohio.
