Dear Fellow Deans,

It was such a pleasure catching up with so many of you in Nashville earlier this month. Back on campus now, we remain focused on providing a relevant, student-centered business education. Here are a few of our recent success stories.

Regards,
Rajib Sanyal, PhD
Dean
ENGAGEMENT—Bringing the Professionals to Campus

Our two graduate programs in supply chain management and business analytics are connecting the classroom to the world of work by hosting events with industry professionals. The March 5 panel discussion on supply chain management is titled “Airplanes, Trains, Trucks, Ships and Drones: Changing the Way the World Moves.” This program is being supported in part by a gift from APICS NYCLI. “Ethics and Social Implications of Artificial Intelligence” is the theme of the panel for the business analytics program on April 15. Both programs are being sponsored by the Willumstad School’s Elizabeth and Allen Don Center for Innovative Technology and Decision Sciences.

Get all the details at Adelphi’s Upcoming Events page.
Students visited the headquarters of L'Oreal U.S.A. to learn about their China engagements.
INNOVATION— The World at Your Door
For the second year running, we offered an international business course focused on China at our Manhattan Center hub. Students in the highly experiential learning course benefited from the eight international graduate students who provided cultural context for the course. Adelphi’s unbeatable location in multicultural New York City offers our students the opportunity to travel “abroad” without a passport or visa!
IMPACT—In the Footsteps of Leaders
Our job shadowing program, now in its third semester, provides our students with insight into the world of work. Since its inception, 45 students (all business school majors) have shadowed in a variety of industries, including finance, banking, insurance, marketing and the public sector. This semester, we have 14 companies partnering with us in the program. A key element is matching the firm and manager with the student’s professional interests. Take a look at this video to see students taking advantage of this valuable opportunity.
