Updates and Working Group Meeting Schedules

Greetings,

The second meetings of the four CT Coalition for Sustainable Materials Management (CCSMM) Working Groups and a special presentation on Equity and Environmental Justice took place over the last two weeks. Thanks to all who contributed to those conversations.

All of the Working Groups now have their own webpages, which include a schedule of upcoming meetings, links to register for these meetings, along with posted agendas and presentations. Below please find registration links to the third meeting for all the working groups, links to the recordings for the 2nd Working Group meetings and the Environmental Justice presentation and Save the Date announcement for three full Coalition meetings.

Environmental Justice

On October 28th Mike Ewall of the Energy Justice Network provided a presentation on Environmental Justice and Environmental Equity coming out of work from the Connecticut Coalition for Environmental Justice and the newly formed Connecticut Zero Waste Coalition, which focuses on equity and environmental justice in the waste sector. Comments received in response to the Request for Comment and Solutions (Public Engagement Questions) are posted on the main CCSMM 
webpage. The opportunity to comment is open to members as well as interested stakeholders and members of the public. Anyone who wishes to submit a comment or a solution, it's not too late - you can do so via email to [email protected].

Lastly for now, if your town or city has signed on to the CCSMM initiative but you do not yet have representatives on one or more of the four Working Groups, you can still assign yourself or other members of your team to any of the four Working Groups using the survey available HERE.
