The House and Senate are in recess for the next three weeks, returning to Washington, DC on September 9; there will be pro forma sessions on Tuesday and Friday, where members of Congress are allowed to formally introduce new legislation, however, no votes will be held and no formal business will be conducted.
 
On Tuesday, President Trump will meet with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the White House to discuss “how best to meet the many shared security challenges facing the United States and Romania and ways to advance fair and reciprocal trade and energy partnerships.” On Wednesday, Trump will travel to Louisville, Kentucky to address the American Veterans 75 th national convention, and hold a private roundtable and fundraiser for Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, who is running for reelection this November. On Thursday, Trump will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 91-year old NBA Hall-of-Fame point guard Bob Cousy, who played for the Boston Celtics from 1950—1963 before retiring for six years and finishing his career with the Cincinnati Royals in 1970.
