"Peace That Comes From A Rolled Away Stone"
Mark 16: 1 - 8
16 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4 When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Have you ever heard of the word rejoice?
Rejoice means to show great joy or delight! In what ways do you show great joy or delight?
Today is Easter, the day we show great joy and delight in knowing that Jesus is alive and in Heaven watching over us! In what way do you and your family rejoice on Easter? One way we show great joy and delight on Easter at church is through song! Below is a link to a fun song that celebrates Easter! Search through your house for an instrument or even a makeshift one, like a box of rice, and have a family dance party, REJOICING in the good news that Jesus is ALIVE!
When Mary, Jesus' mother, approached the tomb where His body was laid, she discovered the large rock blocking the opening had been rolled away and that Jesus was no longer there. She became very sad. Soon, Jesus came to her saying that he was alive and would soon be in heaven with His Father! Mary was very happy and rejoiced by spreading the good news! This week, while outside playing or walking, find a rock that you can decorate and write on it "He is risen!" as a reminder of Easter! You may spread the good news by leaving it on someone's door step!
Prayer
Dear God, thank you for this glorious Easter day! Let us rejoice and share in the good news! Amen.
