Did you know?
Castle Creek Road is under construction this fall. Crews are stabilizing the dangerous rockfall sections. This work will continue through October 2019. Construction of a new bike & walking trail will take place next summer.

What is the situation?
Traffic on Castle Creek Road is likely to be a challenge throughout the fall. Delays can be five minutes or more. Families who drive will want to allow extra time. Travelers on Castle Creek Road will encounter alternating, one-way traffic controlled by timed stoplights.

Should we still drive to school?
Most parents wish to drive children on the first day, but the bus is always a great option. If you do drive, please allow extra time both ways.

What about the bus?
Riding the school bus is going to be the most convenient way to get to school.
Is the cost of riding the bus included?
All bus service is included in the transportation fee charged with enrollment, so there is never an additional charge to ride any bus route.

What's different?
  • Times have changed. Buses are leaving their morning stops five minutes earlier than last year, to allow time to get through the construction zone.
  • Outdoor Ed will leave from & return to Buttermilk parking lot for all fall trips. See the Outdoor Ed trip letters for more details.
What about riding bikes?
Bicycling to campus is not recommended for children this fall because of the construction zone.

What's happening once we get to campus?
To help traffic more more freely, the traffic loop (formerly just for buses) will be open for cars. All dropoff and pickup can happen here.
Buses will arrive and depart from the plaza.

* Morning drop-off: Use the traffic loop. Children should exit right onto the sidewalk, and never cross the road to exit or enter a car.
* Park and walk in: use the Lower School lot or designated parking spots.
* Afternoon pickup: all students will be waiting in the traffic loop.
  • Please don't let your car idle
  • Always obey the speed limit: 12 miles per hour
  • Remind children to use the sidewalks only
Thank you!
