This extraordinary group of women are strong influencers within their agricultural communities and their participation serving in a consultative role to impact the health and wellbeing of producers is extremely beneficial to the development of future health and safety programs. Protecting Respiratory Health
People in the agriculture industry are exposed to a variety of materials that are potentially harmful to the respiratory system. Farmers often are exposed to low concentrations of these substances when performing daily chores, with periodic exposure too high concentrations of certain harmful dusts or gases. It's essential to protect lungs from airborne particles, contaminants and other harmful substances that an individual might breathe in. Choosing the right respirator with the right fit is essential to having adequate protection.
Health Tip
:The respirator user must be fit tested for each type of respirator specified by the pesticide product labeling that s/he will be using before using the respirator and every 12 months after that. Need to brush up on your knowledge about fit testing?
