OUR PARISH MISSION
Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.
We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING
God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:
you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

There are three ways to engage:
1. Small group discussions on Sundays at 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM. We will begin in a Zoom format where we watch a short video on the Bible book being covered for the week then break out into small groups to discuss two questions.
2. Disciple track – read highlights of the Bible book covered on Sunday each day.
3. Scholar track – read the entire Bible book covered on Sunday over the course of the week.

On All Saints', the pledge cards of all the saints who are Christ Church will be placed on the altar, for it is on the altar that we give our gifts to God and where we receive gifts from God. There will be four ways to make sure your card is included:

  1. You can physically place it on the altar at either of our in-person services that day (8:00 AM and 10:30 AM).
  2. The church will be open that afternoon from 2:00-5:00 PM to say a prayer and place your card on the altar.
  3. You can mail it to the church office (you will receive a card and a return envelope in the mail the week before).
  4. You can fill out a confidential online pledge card. We will print each of these cards and place them on the altar for you. Click here to submit your pledge online.

At 5:00 PM, the clergy will bless all the cards in a short virtual service.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY CHAPEL
Sunday, November 1
This week in Children’s Chapel we will review the lessons we have learned in our Old Testament stories thus far. Since parents will be attending Consecration Sunday services, we will explore the importance of sharing God’s gifts to us with others and the significance of All Saints' Day. We will use our creative talents by making cards for the residents of the Wesley Haven facility. Things continue to go well with in-church chapel services, so we hope you will consider joining us. Parents, please sign children up here (max 12 children).

Zoomers can continue to tune in to hear Britton Lynn — she will also review the Old Testament stories we have heard in October and discuss God's promises to his people. These sessions begin at 9:30 AM. The meeting ID is: 3205228708. Britton will let you in through the waiting room.

We look forward as always to having you with us in person or as a Zoomer!

Reminder to parents: Please bring your children directly to the Parish Hall prior to the 10:30 church service. You will enter from the courtyard and breezeway and sign your children in at the Parish Hall door. You and your children will need to wear a mask and remember the guidelines for social distancing.

The Americas have for centuries been home to many different ethnic groups. Native Americans, Europeans, Africans, and Asians came or were brought and settled the land of the United States. This class developed by the Episcopal Church helps us learn about the experiences of these groups as they interacted as a challenge to Building Beloved Community. A Zoom connection is our means of conversing from 9:15-10:00 AM on Sundays and is facilitated by Dick Hooper and David Starling. Join the dialogue through the ZOOM link available in the Saturday announcements. Please click here for more information.

Are you enjoying the Bible Project? Want to deepen your understanding of scripture? We are hosting a Zoom information meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 6-7:30 PM, where current students and graduates will speak about their experience in EfM. Together we will explore theological reflection and answer your questions.

EfM will enrich your spiritual life. It is designed for lay people with big questions and a hunger to better understand our faith. We join together weekly to study Old Testament, New Testament, church history and theological thinking in a four year program but you only commit to one academic year at a time. The seminar builds fellowship, understanding and a sense of how God is working in your life. Registration for our new year begins in December. For additional information, contact Pam Tanner.
CHRIST CHURCH JUSTICE MINISTRY
Co-chaired by Father Michael, Christ Church is an active participant in the local J.U.S.T. Pensacola (Justice United Seeking Transformation in Pensacola) organization. As in 2019, Christ Church members, along with those from 23 other congregations, will gather in small group meetings where attendees tell their stories, share their hopes and concerns for our community, and discuss our call to do justice. This is the first step in the yearly process to determine areas needing improvement in our community, doing the research, and coming together at a Nehemiah event to present strategies and make requests to community leaders for improvement. With a large number of people attending (700 at our last Nehemiah event) representing so many faith communities, our leaders do listen. Members of Christ Church will host meetings of approximately ten people, either in-person or virtual. The meetings will be held in the next five weeks and last only an hour and a half. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact Honey Harris.
Due to Covid 19 and limited capacity, BayLights weekend is programmed as a "Getaway by the Bay" for adults and families. There will be no live entertainment Friday night; no Diocesan Ultreya or Rock Bottom on Saturday. It's an opportunity for a fun filled weekend with your friends and family in God's front yard!
