Hi everyone!
How is it possible that school is about to start, or has started for some?! What happened to starting after Labor Day?
I am coming up for air after a crazy couple of weeks. (Hence, the late newsletter and a few missing sections this issue.) We just finished hosting the USTA BJK Girls' Nationals in San Diego, I managed to get one son off to college, and one starts next Monday.
I took a couple days to travel with my middle son to St. Louis, to get him moved in for his sophomore year at Wash U and all checked in for football. It was a great few days filled with laughs, tears, and heat!
Few of the takeaways:
- Not many sports do you have boys greeting each other jockeying for bragging rights on who gained the most weight over summer.
- My son is lucky to have a mom who can help move everything from a storage unit to the 3rd floor room (with no elevator) in the St. Louis summer heat.
- A mother's job is done when there are clean sheets on the bed.
- I am grateful for having boys, and their minimalist needs to decorate dorm rooms.
- Being back at home, the emptiness is not a fun adjustment.
Enjoy your last few days of summer vacation,(if you have any left) and good luck with all your back-to-school chaos!
