Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

10 ways to pray for persecuted Christians…and 1 way you should never pray for them

Each Voice of the Martyrs organization in each country around the world is independent, but we share a common history and heritage. We also cooperate wherever possible, including in the production of resources. One of my favorite resources from the VOM family is a list of ten ways to pray for persecuted Christians. It comes from what we’ve collectively learned from persecuted Christians themselves about prayer. In case you’ve not seen it before or recently, here it is. As you read it, please note not only the ways that are listed, but see if you can detect the most common way that Christians pray for the persecuted that is not on this list:...

Pastor Tim's Prayer Points
  • Please continue to pray for Mrs. L. She suffers from diabetes and due to that she has recently lost sight in her right eye and has begun to have seizures. She also became depressed due to the death of fellow North Korean defector and friend Mrs. Hong. And to make matters worse, she began to beat her husband. He called our VOMK worker out of concern for his wife and asked for help. Pray for her mental and spiritual health and also for her husband to draw close to the Lord during this time.

  • We currently have ten North Korean interns serving in our two NK training schools. These NKs have graduated from our programs and are now faithfully serving as missionaries and sharing the gospel with new NK defectors. They are not perfect missionaries, but they have been serving their own people in China, Thailand, Russia and other nations. In South Korea they have visited NKs in homes, hospitals, and prisons every week. They have learned how to serve their people with heart and tears. Please pray for our interns as they serve their own people all around the world.
