Jim Keras Chevrolet has put up a Chevy Blazer worth $30,000 for the first person to cup the ball in one swing. It is 165 yards to the cup for men; 150 for women. The dealership also is putting up prizes for holes in one on three other holes along the course.
The tournament is one of two fundraising events held by the Board of Directors of CrimeStoppers each year. Proceeds pay awards to citizens who have helped solve crimes during the year with information they give CrimeStoppers anonymously.
"Every dollar we make at this tournament will help fight crime and put away felony criminals," said Buddy Chapman, the organization's executive director.
Just a month ago, the World Cup event was held at Southwind to great reviews.
The other prizes offered by Jim Keras this year include:
- One-year supply of Bridgestone golf balls (12 dozen) for a hole in one on the fourth hole.
- A luxurious four-day and three-night golf vacation at French Lick Resort for a hole in one on the 11th.
- A $500 gift certificate for a Travis Mathew "head to toe signature outfit" shopping spree at TravisMathew.com for a hole in one on 14.
More than a dozen other sponsoring companies are helping to make the tournament a success. They include: Phelps Security, Value Logistics, Dillard Door, Watkins Uiberal, Herbi-Systems, Splash Creative, Gary and Frances Paulson, TBC Corporation, Wolfchase Toyota, Impact Brokerage, Outback Steakhouse, Phelps Electric, State Systems, Inc. and an Anonymous Company.
Sponsorships start at $300 for a hole with signage. For full sponsorship information email
