Hello chamber!
We've made it through the dog days of summer, and while it's still quiet downtown while everyone's on vacation, our team at the Chamber has been anything but idle. Here's a recap of what we've been up to and what we have planned for the rest of the month and into fall:
LGBTQ+ JOB FAIR
Blown away by the success of our last job fair, we are thrilled to announce that the next one will be held on
October 28. We anticipate that this event will attract even more companies seeking LGBTQ+ employees, and urge job hunters to register early and spread the word about this amazing opportunity.
Date: Monday, October 28
Time: 4:30–7PM
Location: 50 Milk Street, Boston, MA 02109

NETWORKING ACROSS THE STATE
We hosted two information and business networking events last month giving LGBT professionals and allies throughout the state an opportunity to meet, establish business connections, and learn more about the Chamber’s work.
The first session took place at member
Jay’s Bed & Breakfast on July 24, and featured a speaking program from Chamber Executive Director Grace Moreno, Ambassador and Community Liaison for Western Massachusetts Leena Akhtar, Board Member Pam Delaney, and Holyoke Mayor and current Congressional candidate Alex Morse.
We held a second session on July 31, this time in Boston at
WeWork One Beacon Street. Joining Grace as speakers were Board Member Wilnelia Rivera, Joyce Eggers of
Takeda, and Toby Cavanaugh of
Vertex.
Cards were exchanged, connections were made, and new businesses joined our membership. Keep an eye out for similar networking opportunities in the near future!

RADIO PRIDE LAUNCHES BUSINESS PRIDE SEGMENT
Radio Pride, a weekly radio show focused on LGBTQ content and airing 4PM Saturdays on WCAP 980 AM, this month launched its new Business Pride segment! Business Pride is a vignette within Radio Pride, highlighting LGBT business owners who are members of our chamber. Doug Spencer, Chamber Founding Member and owner of
Spencer Brenneman, was the first to be featured in this segment —
listen here. Radio Pride Founder Joe Mangiacotti explains: “The workplace environment, LGBTQ+ talent pool, and LGBTQ+ business community play a huge role in keeping and moving forward everything [Radio Pride has] gained so far. Teaming up with the Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce is an honor and will only strengthen the Chamber, the show, and the overall voice and reach of the LGBTQ+ community." We look forward to formally bringing on Radio Pride as a media sponsor later this month and continuing our work together.
