"Transmitters Aren't Supposed to Be Exciting...But Saving Money Is!"
with Don Backus, Rohde & Schwarz

Your transmitter plant isn't supposed to be exciting - it's just supposed to run 24/7/365. In fact, excitement at the transmitter site is almost always a very bad thing...unless that excitement is a reduced electric power bill. Now, that's exciting! What if your transmitter could reduce your operational costs by bringing new technology and design into the mix, by paying for itself, or even becoming a profit center, all on its own? It can, and it's not voodoo or science fiction...it's where great engineering and financial management meet, where an expense item becomes a revenue center - and that's actually exciting!  Click here to Register

"License Renewal"
with David Oxenford, Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP

With the public file online, broadcaster's activities will no doubt be subject to scrutiny. What should you be doing to prepare for your license renewal filing? Join David Oxenford for a discussion of some of the issues you should be considering in connection with the upcoming license renewal cycle.  Click here to Register

Course Description:  Leaving a bad voicemail for someone is the worst. Maybe you were unprepared or caught off guard. Maybe you stumbled or forgot to leave your name. Whatever the case, it's embarrassing and unprofessional. Given the high use of email and text messaging, leaving a voicemail message is becoming a rare business practice. But it's still important, particularly if you work in sales or customer service. In this program, we'll go over six steps to leaving an effective voicemail. We'll include how to properly identify yourself, knowing what information to leave, and the proper length of a voicemail message. We'll also give you some tips on what NOT to do to help you maximize the chance of getting your phone calls returned. Click here to log in and watch this course.

Is Radio's History Vulnerable?: Why Digital Archiving Should Be a Priority
By: Seth Resler
Jacobs Media Strategies

It is only in the last few weeks that the general public has learned the full extent of the music history that was destroyed in the Universal fire of 2008. We're just now finding out that the world has been robbed of master recordings from a wide range of artists, including Louis Armstrong, Buddy Holly, Nine Inch Nails, and Eminem. "How could this have happened?!," we ask.   Read More
