ECC Families,

Good evening. Tomorrow is the first day of our 2019-2020 school year and we are all so excited to get started! We are looking forward to a great year. For those of you starting at Presentation ECC we are so happy you have chosen our school. I will be sending out a weekly update to all families about what is going on in our center. Your child's teacher also sends home a weekly newsletter so you will have more specific information which applies to your child. Any new family who was unable to make it to Meet Your Teacher please stop by the front desk before taking your child back to their classroom so we can make sure we have all of the necessary paperwork. Any family who was unable to get their fingerprint scanned at Meet Your Teacher or did not pick up your key fobs we will be able to help you at the front desk. We will continue to enter paperwork through this week and will contact families if we are missing anything. For new families when you bring your child to school tomorrow if it is 7:30 AM or after you will take your child directly back to their classroom. If it is between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM you will leave your child in the lunch room with our opening teachers Ms. Ashley and Ms. Brooke where they can eat breakfast (we do not serve breakfast you must bring it in for your child). Below you will find important information regarding the beginning of the school year. If you have any questions feel free to call the office or email me at ckoob@olpls.org. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

God Bless,

ECC Staff
We have had a few staff changes for the upcoming school year. One of our long time Pre-K teachers Ms. Eileen Neeley left to pursue teaching in an elementary classroom. She was replaced by Ms. Annie Lippert. We also lost one of our afternoon teacher assistants, Ms. Emilie and she is being replaced with Ms. Victoria. We are hoping our new staff picture board will be ready soon for the entryway. Below you will find a list of staff and their roles. You will be able to find more information on our website. Extracurricular Activities
We have several after school activities available for families to sign up for. These are parent paid programs and are not part of the activity fee. These activities happen on set days throughout the week. More information regarding signing up and demo days will be coming out soon. Listed below are the classes available and a little bit about them.

Activity Fee Classes
In addition to field trips, special events, and curriculum support the annual activity fee helps partially cover the cost of regular classes for each age group. Our toddlers and twos classes participate in a twice monthly Stretch-n-Grow class and our preschool and pre-k classes enjoy weekly Spanish classes. More information can be found below. We also have monthly rotating age group visits from the "Library Guy".

Center Closed
Our center will be closed from Monday, September 2 for Labor Day.
Enrollment Paperwork
All paperwork needs to be on file before the end of the this week. All children must have immunization records on file or a waiver from the Health Department unless it is for a medical reason in which your child's doctor will need to fill out special paperwork. If we do not have the necessary paperwork on file by September 3rd your child will not be able to attend. If you have any questions please contact Deanna Driskell at ddriskell@olpls.org.
Informational Paperwork
Families we have located on a table across from the front office several informational papers for your review. I have linked an electronic copy of many of them below.

New Remind Notification Groups for 2019-2020 School Year
Families we had to set up new Remind groups based on your students last name. If you had previously subscribed to the Presentation ECC Families 2019-2020 group it has been deleted and you will need to resubscribe to one of the groups found in the link below. Sorry for the inconvenience changes were made after we sent out the information in the enrollment packets. When you click on the link below it will take you to the remind app page under the Current Family Secure Page. You will need the password, Famil$Ec$ (case sensitive)

Health & Sickness
We want to do our best to keep all of our students as healthy as possible. One of the ways we do this is by asking all families to make sure to have their child wash their hands upon entering the building. If you are here before 7:30 AM then please take your child to our group bathroom area and have them wash their hands before sitting down for breakfast or at a table to play with toys. If it is after 7:30 AM you may either stop by the group bathroom area or direct your child to go to their classroom restroom upon entering the room to wash their hands. Below you will find information from our parent handbook regarding our sickness policy. Working together we can help keep our students healthy!

ILLNESS

We request that your child remain at home if he/she is feeling ill, has an unusual rash or diarrhea, is experiencing pain or tiredness that prohibits them from participating in a normal school day.

If a child has an axillary temperature of 100.5 the parent will be asked to take the child home. If a fever occurs suddenly, the temperature will be rechecked after a 30-minute rest period. If the fever is still present, the parent will be asked to take the child home.
If your child contracts a contagious childhood disease, please let us know so that we may communicate the outbreak to our other families. Please notify the preschool by phone if your child will be absent. Otherwise after 2 consecutive absences, the teacher will contact the family as to the health of their child. If a child becomes ill while at school they will be brought to the office area until the family arrives to take the child home. Presentation ECC is not a sick child care program. Sick children may not return to school until they have been symptom free and on medication for at least 24/48 hours.

If you have a question about whether your child may attend or return to school with regards to sickness it is encouraged to contact Presentation ECC office staff before bringing your child to the center.
