Hollywood Boosters play a major role in the Junior Rose Parade - as street marshals, providing port-a-potties, judging floats, and more.
The Junior Rose Parade is a great time for Hollywood Businesses to showcase their business - offer a special sale, cross advertise with others in the Hollywood Star, distribute business flyers to the thousands of people who line the street.

Bridging the gap between our housed & houseless neighbors
Saturday morning June 15 at 11:00 am volunteers will come together at CNN to reach out to 10 areas of identified encampments of houseless folks in Central NE Portland. We are so fortunate to have volunteers from Sunderland who live in Dignity Village as part of our committee. We are all a great team.
Volunteers introduce themselves and offer bottles of water, Street Roots Resource Guides and give out trash bags to folks living in the camps helping to provide a way for them to keep their surroundings tidy. We also offer sharps containers. We partner with the City of Portland,
Homelessness/Urban Camping Impact Reduction Program to have Clean Start pick up and dispose of bags that are filled by campers.
Clean Start reported picking up 69 filled trash bags. Each bag held 42 gallons of trash for a total of 2898 gallons of trash. Hard to imagine how much this weighed. Think of a plastic milk carton as a gallon and 2898 gallons is a lot of trash! Also picked up 10 sharps containers, 4 abandoned shopping carts and several wooden pallets. Clean Start is pleased with our project.
CNN Livability Committee meets on Wednesday, June 19th at Central Northeast Neighbors Bob Ueland Community Room, 4415 NE 87
th
from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. You are welcome to join us.

Hollywood Tri Met Public Safety
|
|
What started as an idea from the North Public Safety Action Committee in April 2017 regarding an effort to enhance public safety is finally coming to fruition. The idea included a fence along the northern boundary of the Banfield, Trimet Hollywood Transit Station and Burlington Northern Railroad Right of Way for public safety and to discourage illegal activities. Trimet has broken ground and the construction is underway.
