Your Monthly Newsletter from Student Affairs

Hello Queen’s parents, families, and supporters,

Staff across Student Affairs are ready to provide your student with comprehensive services and programming to promote their academic success and personal wellbeing, to help them build community and connection, and to support them as they adjust to a primarily remote learning environment, wherever they are living this year.

While most of our operations are online this fall, and staff continue to work from home, we do have some limited on-campus health and wellness services for students in Kingston.

We hope the information below will assist you in guiding your student to the supports, resources and opportunities available to help them thrive in these uncertain and unprecedented times. We are here to help!

About Ancillary Fees
The university, the AMS and SGPS have reviewed 2020-21 mandatory ancillary fees and have made initial adjustments (reductions) due to the ongoing pandemic. Some fees require further evaluation depending on current public health information and anticipated service levels; they will be re-assessed twice in the upcoming year. Any adjustments will be reductions.
  • The first evaluation will be mid-September, before fall term fee payments are due. Any credits will be applied to your students' SOLUS account if payment has already been received. Learn about Ancillary Fees here.
  • Fees will be reassessed in January, before the winter term tuition and fees payment deadline (January 31)
  • The annual opt-out period for optional fees is September 8–30
