Summer Camp - C'est Super!
July 3rd 2020

Everyone is having so much fun at our bilingual Summer Camp!

The kids and camp counselors have been busy playing games, making arts & crafts and enjoying the outdoors- but most of all, they're enjoying being together.

Some of our favorite camp activities have been playing tag, enjoying the sandbox, finding gems and minerals, playing musical chairs, building forts, and making friendship bracelets and other crafts while listening to stories.

It's been wonderful to have such great interest and to see all of the smiling faces. Many campers will be with us for several weeks, and others are adding on weeks because they are enjoying it so much! Bravo to Elise, Ava, Sydney and Zoé for your creative planning and for making EFDM's first annual summer camp experience such a success!!! Fantastique!!!

It's not too late to have your child join us, please see the enrollment form below for more information and a link to sign up!

Look what I found!

We can build it!

Time to do some serious creating!  Each child has their own materials to work with and we're social distancing in the classrooms.

Make your own rattlesnakes and caterpillars   - you choose and pick your colors ...and let's hear you name them in French!
Making Hedwig Owls while listening to Harry Potter - en français, bien sûr!
Très chouette!!!

Sydney Sullivan:
Sydney graduates from Waynflete School this June, 2020- (Congratulations Sydney!) and plans to attend Occidental College in LA in the fall. She attended a Waldorf School in Montréal for a year when she was in grade 1, where she was fully immersed in French. In grade 8, she completed a cultural exchange with a host family in Normandy, France and studied French throughout high school. Sydney has been babysitting since grade 7 and absolutely loves being around kids! She finds there is so much to learn from their unwavering curiosity and ability to stay present. She worked for the after care program at Waynflete School this past year, as well as being a teacher's assistant for a K-1 classroom.

One small school offers lessons in safe return

2020/2021 School year starting on August 17, 2020
The school community overwhelmingly supports the idea of beginning the school year in August instead of the traditional post Labor Day start in September. This will allow us to bank the most possible in-person school days before we potentially face a second wave of COVID-19 that could possibly result in another school closure.
We are glad the school community supports the idea of doing whatever it takes to give the children the most possible in-person school days. They need to play, be with their friends, and just be kids again. We want them to return with enthusiasm and experience success, so the main focus of the first month of school in August will be to make the most of the fine weather, speak French, get outdoors as much as possible and have fun. We will ease back into the curriculum in a way that ensures every child is able to enjoy a positive school experience.

In the meantime, we wish you a wonderful summer!!!
- and we look forward to seeing many of you at our Summer Camp program!!
