10th Sunday after Pentecost - August 18, 2019
From the Vicar

Do you ever feel like some weeks are endurance trials, when you do the next thing, then the next with as much of a sense of presence as possible? Then things can start to pile up--not just the dishes around the sink but more commitments of time and energy.

That's when I know it's time to take a hard stop.

I already had a vacation weekend planned (both Padre Guillermo and I get four Sundays off a year--not for education purposes or church-related business--but to take time to be present to ourselves and our families). I'll trust Divine Wisdom to have known how much I would need this break, and I recognize my privilege in taking one. Tomorrow, while Casey holds down the fort here at home, I leave to take my son Alexander to Nashville, where he will start at Belmont next week. This weekend I'll go to Georgia to visit one of my soul sisters and witness her ordination to the priesthood (yes, even on vacation I enjoy going to church!). I'll meander my way back, taking time to rest, reflect, and ponder priorities not only for myself but for our church.

This is where YOU come in. I've already started thinking about this. For all the things All Saints' does and stands for, it's not solely about what I do. It's always about what WE do as the Body of Christ. What does Micah 6:8 compel us to do? What about Matthew 25:34-46? We have our Ministry Fair coming up September 15. I'd love to have an outdoor affair so our neighbors can see what we're up to and maybe even get involved. I need 4-5 of you to help accomplish this. For we do accomplish amazing things together and will continue to do so, remembering and living into our greatest commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and sharing the light and love of Christ along the way.
Back to School Pool Party...

. . . was a success! Moms, dads, friends, and kids had a great time at our annual event. Many thanks to the Morales family for hosting. We hope to see even more folks next year!
