THE NAME OF JESUS
I remember a secular song from years ago by Johnny Cash that was entitled “A Boy Named Sue.” It caused a stir. Parents don’t always realize the consequences of a name that might brand their child as “different”.
The scriptures tell us that before we were formed in the womb that God knows us (Jeremiah 1:5). Nothing comes by accident to God. He knows the very hairs on our head.
Many of us don’t realize the importance of the name that was given to Jesus. Emmanuel, God with us. Wow, that had to make a stir! Yet, at the name of Jesus, one day every knee will bow, and tongue will confess that He is Lord. That name is all powerful. It can calm a storm and it can heal the sick.
We have been given the authority to use His name over any spirit that may rise up against us. What’s in a name? Authority. What’s in a name? Power. What we do with that name will determine victory or defeat. Have you ever considered that through the name of Jesus we can ask the Father anything and He will do it? I am not saying anything evil, but anything that is promoting the Kingdom. Now that is power!
Take the name Christ. It isn’t Jesus’ last name. it means Cristos in Greek but means the anointing or anointed one. We take that name on when we are born again. We are Christ-ians. We have the anointing on us that was on Jesus. The anointing is the Holy Spirit, that gives us the power. In Acts 1 Jesus told his disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came on them, (Acts 1:8) and in Acts 2:39 it says, “For the promise (the Holy Ghost and power) is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off. Even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” That means you and me!
What’s in a name? Everything that we need when we use it. In Acts 3:16 it says, “And his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”
Use the name of Jesus and change the world. That’s what’s in a name!

ABRAHAM – PART 14
ABRAM AT WAR
Twelve years the Canaanites had paid homage in subservience to the Babylonian King Chedorlaomer. They rebelled in year thirteen. They were then invaded once again by Babylon in the fourteenth year.
Four Babylonian kings, Arioch, Amraphel, and Tidal, led by Chedorlaomer invaded Canaan and all the land around the Jordan River. They defeated the Rephaims, the Zuzims, The Emins, the Horites, The Amalekites, and the Amorites. After defeating these six groups, they set their sights to invade the Plain of Jordan with its five cities, Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim, and Zoar.
A confederate army of these five cities went out to meet the Babylonians in war to defend their cities. The Babylonian army thoroughly routed them as they became entrapped in an area of slime pits. Some of them escaped into the mountains to hide.
Four Babylonian kings proceeded to take the inhabitants of these five defeated cities along with all their herds and everything of any value, the spoils of war. A survivor fled to the Plain of Mamre where he found Abram and told him what had happened. Abram heard that his nephew Lot had been taken prisoner. He knew he had to rescue Lot. He must go to war against the kings of Babylon.
Fortunately, God had blessed Abram with great wealth and many servants, probably over a thousand of them, not counting the children. He was able to muster 318 of his own men who were of an age capable of fighting. Mamre and his two brothers, Eshcol and Aner, also added some men of their own. With this small army, Abram pursued the invaders who were by now in the more northern part of Canaan.
When Abram caught up to them, he pulled a surprise attack at night and routed the Babylonians. As they fled, Abram continued to pursue them all the way into Damascus, Syria. He utterly defeated them and took all the spoil they had taken from the eleven defeated cities. He was able to bring back Lot and all of his goods, and all the people that had been taken from the cities.
The King of Sodom, who had escaped, came out to meet Abram and he said just return my people t To me and keep all the spoil for yourself. Abram said that in honor of his God, Yahweh, he would not take any spoil. Only Mamre, Aner, and Eshcol would take their portion of it and Abram’s portion would be returned to the five kings that had previously been defeated.
Abram’s testimony of honor to “the LORD (YAHWEH), the Most High God, the possessor of heaven and earth.” (Genesis 14:22) clearly let the King of Sodom know who it really was that brought the victory. But did it do Sodom any good? Stay tuned to find out.

The Lord says...”I am sending out a clarion call to you My children and I’m asking you; Can you hear Me now and do you sense the urgency of My words? I am now, like never before calling out to those of you My watchmen. Yes, to those of you who have been and those who yet remains on the walls of your surroundings, of your area and of your nation. All of you My true Watchmen Prophets in this crucial hour, I am calling for you to quickly and efficiently move out in love and in mercy for My house and for My people; And to warn them to stay close to My true body of believers. For it is only there they will be protected from the many things that are even now being planned against you, My true Church in the earth today. Just as it was in the Bible days, again I am having Goshen’s prepared for you My people. Beware and be ready to listen, for the time is here when I will begin to expedite My directions and My instructions as to things you must do as well as the things that you must not do in this hour that you are now approaching. Be ever careful of the voices that you’re hearing and those you will soon begin to hear; But be even more diligent not to listen to and take heed to those voices that you hear. For indeed many voices will begin to arise all around you...Watch for the voices that will be making an uncertain sound. Yes, beware of those who speak words that do not ring true in your heart and in your spirit. For many voices are already rising up and deceiving some of you My little ones. Do not, I repeat to you...Do not allow these voices speaking words that simply do not line up with My written Word to penetrate your heart, your mind or your spirit. For My written Word has long since been written on the tablets of your hearts and they’ve been your compass guiding you on life’s troubled seas; Keep them front and center of your life. For some will come to try and sway you away from what you know to be right. Never ignore the tell tale signs of the times that are ever so quickly being seen in the heavens and in the world around you. These things should not be something of strangeness to you My children; For surely you have read in My Holy Writ the signs that would point you My people to the days that you are even now beginning to encounter. Do not go thinking that these things too will pass; For truly I tell you they will not pass but soon all those around you will know that there’s a definite feeling of uncertainty in the air...And that there will soon be a shifting and a shaking of all things and of all people that you My children have known to be tried and true; Just hold fast to the truths of My Word and don’t let go of the wisdom of all that I am; For all that you know and have long since clung to of My Word will all too soon be tested among you. Stay steady in what you know to be right and true. Let not the truth of My Word slip at any moment. Keep your eyes on Me and your heart in tune with My Word; For I tell you My people My Word and My Way will be heavily contested in these last days...As will your faith. So stay strong My little ones I say, stay strong for I am with you to deliver you through it all. Never let fear or intimidation interrupt your peace; But contend for the faith that I have given unto you My children”.
