Sharing the Second Baptist Story for 61 years.
memories about our church.

Friends,
As I look back over the past few months, I am reminded of the over-whelming generosity and support you as a church body have provided to me and the areas of ministry I serve. I am so grateful for the many prayers, words of encouragement, scholarship gifts, and volunteer hours given to support the children, youth and families of Second B. It was an amazingly full summer!
School is starting this week and the church is getting back into the fall
routine. I am excited about the many opportunities our 2b Kids and Youth
have to stay connected with one another and our church family.
- On Sunday mornings, Discipleship classes are offered for all ages. Our Students (6th - 12th) will return on Sunday evenings for 2b Alive, which includes dinner, worship, devotionals and games.
- Dellinda Ebeling will also be working with any children on Sunday afternoons who want to join the hand bell choir.
- For Wednesday night programming, our youth are welcome to come play games and eat dessert with Savanna and Jordan at Hangout.
- Our children will be busy with our new program, WILD Wednesdays! From 6:00 to 7:00 pm, we will WALK through the Word learning Bible drills, IMAGINE what we can do as the body of Christ, talk about what it means to LOVE everyone, and DO God’s work. With music, art, games, drama and missions, our 2b kids will be busy having fun while learning what it means to love God and love others.
- Kids’ Night Out will also be back on the second Friday of every month beginning September 13. KNO is $15 per child with a $40 family max, and we welcome children 6 weeks through 5th grade. Dinner, snacks, and all activities are included with registration. Students 6th through 12th grade are also invited to join Savanna and Jordan to help lead the school age kids’ activities. Registration is now open on our website.
Now for the hardest part, I need you! Our ministries will not be successful and cannot function without the support of our Second B family. I ask you to prayerfully consider volunteering some of your time to help serve our children. I specifically need a few more adults to work with our 2b kids only 12 Sunday mornings a year from 9:30 to 10:30 am. On Wednesday evenings, I am searching for volunteers who are willing to spend 20 minutes a few nights a month during the fall. WILD Wednesday volunteers would be helping with either art, music, games, drama, or
missions. Volunteering would still allow you to attend 40 minutes of your
Wednesday night Windows class. Giving of your time to our children this
fall will be a huge blessing to you in return. Please contact me if you feel
led to serve in our children and youth areas. I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for allowing me the chance to work with our young families at Second B. I love this church and I am excited to see the love of Christ through the eyes of our 2b Kids!
Blessings,
Sheryl

Youth News and Events
Hey y'all!
As the summer comes to an end and we fall back to routines and school, I just have to say thank you to y'all! I cannot express how thankful I am to each and everyone of you! Thank you for sharing your youth with me this summer. I have been so blessed to get to know each youth, laugh with them, minister to them, and learn from them. Again, thank you!
- This past Sunday, August 11th, was promotion Sunday. Our new 6th graders have been so great! We had a great discussion in the bible study hour and the 6th graders had such great input and didn't miss a beat! I look forward to having them and watching them continue to grow!
- 2B Alive kicks off this Sunday night from 5:30-7! We will meet at Second B and enjoy pizza, fellowship, and a devotional along with some games. It is going to be so much fun and I hope that you will encourage your youth to come and join us.
Below is a link to a sign up sheet for the Sunday night meal for 2B Alive. Please sign up as you feel led and contact me with any questions or concerns. 520-249-4866.
Blessings,
Savanna
