August 2019: News, Events, and Opportunities for CASA Volunteers

Letter from CASA Executive Director Angela Rose

Dear CASA Volunteers:

It was so wonderful to see so many of you last weekend at Hillside Gardens for our Volunteer Appreciation event!

We hope you enjoyed the food, company, and magnificent view. We also hope the event illustrated just how appreciative we are for each and every one of you. We certainly wouldn't be well on our way to serving every child that needs us without your passion and dedication. Thank you!

You might have noticed that News Channel 5 came out to enjoy the day with us as well. Click here to catch some of your fellow volunteers talking about CASA on the news!

Thank you all for your continued service to our community's children. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Angela

Changes coming to The Hanger this September

We are making some minor changes to The Hanger's operations and these changes will be effective on September 1:
  • The Hanger's new hours will be 12:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturdays only. September 7 will be the first Saturday with these new hours.
  • The Hanger will no longer be open on Monday nights.
  • Shopping during the week is now ONLY for emergency placements, and unsupervised shopping is not permitted. If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact Jill
  • Teens may take five pairs of shoes per year and only two of those pairs can be sneakers. Reminder: Clothing and shoes are only for the teen who is taking them, and they need to be in the correct size.

Love CASA? Help us achieve a "Top-Rated" status!

In order to be included on this year's Top-Rated Nonprofit List on the Great Nonprofits website, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region needs 10 (ten) ratings (4+ stars). Our last day to achieve this goal is October 31. Want to help us get there? Click here to write a review with at least 4 or 5 stars.
Lost and Found: Denim Jacket

Is this your jean jacket? It was left outside the Legacy Room at the CASA building a few weeks ago, and we would like to reconnect it with its owner. Drop by to get it if it's yours!
S till need school supplies? Come and get 'em!

Don't forget to stop by The Hanger and Kid's Closet at the CASA office.

School may have already started for a lot of kids, but we still have a lot of the basic supplies, as well as brand new backpacks available.
