"Transmitters Aren't Supposed to Be Exciting...But Saving Money Is!"
with Don Backus, Rohde & Schwarz

Your transmitter plant isn't supposed to be exciting - it's just supposed to run 24/7/365. In fact, excitement at the transmitter site is almost always a very bad thing...unless that excitement is a reduced electric power bill. Now, that's exciting! What if your transmitter could reduce your operational costs by bringing new technology and design into the mix, by paying for itself, or even becoming a profit center, all on its own? It can, and it's not voodoo or science fiction...it's where great engineering and financial management meet, where an expense item becomes a revenue center - and that's actually exciting!  Click here to Register

"License Renewal"
with David Oxenford, Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP

With the public file online, broadcaster's activities will no doubt be subject to scrutiny. What should you be doing to prepare for your license renewal filing? Join David Oxenford for a discussion of some of the issues you should be considering in connection with the upcoming license renewal cycle.  Click here to Register

Course Description:  Are you the person who starts a text message but forgets to send it? Do you have a half-finished DIY project waiting for you at home? Do you have a to-do list with many things left unchecked? Yes, some of us may lack the time, focus, desire, or motivation to finish what we've started. But who can blame us when studies show that we get interrupted nearly every three minutes? Whatever your reason for being a non-finisher, this course is designed to help you push through and complete your unfinished tasks. We'll go over procrastination, common fears, and why we tend to start and stop. We'll also touch on
perfectionism and making a plan.

Berko_100
Top Tips for Successfully Programming More than One Station
By: Gary Berkowitz
Berkowitz Broadcast Consulting

Being a PD today is no easy job. Most PDs are now responsible for not only multiple stations, but multiple formats, promotion and the digital side. When I became PD at WPRO and PRO-FM I would often tell my wife that I did not stop all day but felt as though I did not accomplish a lot. It felt like all I was doing was "putting out fires." My 100% laser focus was not on either station.   Read More

Radio DJs Get Feedback, Podcasters Don't. Will That Change?
By: Seth Resler
Jacobs Media Strategies

In radio broadcasting, there is an age-old ritual known as the "aircheck session." A DJ takes a recording of a recent show into their Program Director's office where they listen to it together and the PD offers constructive criticism. This type of feedback is crucial for up-and-coming on-air talent; it's how they get better.   Read More
