Your SAR convened a workshop in Spokane this week to help improve the local climate for your business: Transforming Neighborhoods: Strategies and Tools for Addressing Vacant, Abandoned and Deteriorated Properties.

The event was held Thursday at the Ramada - Spokane Airport hotel.

Local REALTORS®, Spokane city, Spokane Valley, Spokane County officials and others from the community attended the all-day workshop to learn how to use market-based interventions to stabilize neighborhoods.

The program was funded by an NAR grant, and designed by the Center for Community Progress.

The National Association of REALTORS® today commended the Department of Housing and Urban Development for finalizing new Federal Housing Authority condominium loan policies.

The changes, many of which NAR has championed for over a decade, should yield thousands of new homeownership opportunities and help alleviate affordability restraints impacting markets across the country.

Anti-trust Lawsuits

The National Association of REALTORS® is currently fighting an anti-trust lawsuit against our profession on your behalf.

The primary allegation is that home sellers are unfairly being required to pay the commissions of buyers' brokers while falsely suggesting the role of buyer broker has diminished over time.

NAR filed a motion to dismiss Moehrl v. NAR in May, which we believe demonstrated that the plaintiff's case was not legally viable.

In response, the class action attorneys filed an amended complaint in June.

While the new complaint presents additional plaintiffs and allegations, as well as revised arguments, the underlying foundation of it remains the same.

The plaintiffs' attorneys continue to misunderstand and mischaracterize the pro-competitive, pro-consumer MLS system, which - as you know - is designed first and foremost with the best interests of buyers and sellers in mind.

Several copycat lawsuits have since popped up around the country. NAR is fighting these as well.

NAR offers a Frequently Asked Questions document to help you answer questions from your clients and brokers about these lawsuits.

WR Fall Business Conference

September 18-20

Washington REALTORS®️ Fall Business conference is an opportunity for members from all over Washington State to gather in one location, network, develop leadership skills and be a part of association governance.

Members come to this event to help shape the association that works on their behalf and on behalf of property owners all across the state!

America's Hottest: Spokane in Top Ten

The nation's hottest real estate markets in July weren't the big, famous cities that most folks would expect.

But what they lack in glitz, excitement, and skyscrapers, these smaller metropolitan areas more than make up for in affordability, according an analysis of July realtor.com® data.

Spamming Lawsuits

"Is your home still for sale? I have 3 qualified buyers for the area. Please let me know, thanks."

Four lawsuits have been filed against REALTORS® for violating federal telephone consumer protection law so far this year.
