Dear Wonderful Lovejoy Community:
|
|
It’s that time of year when it is getting tough. We are a bit more tired, and we are ready for a break. We have unpredictable weather, and it seems our lives are on turbo.
The great thing is that there is hope in our purpose!
I recently ran across a study that can help us focus on the very things that bring us the most happiness.
As a matter of fact, it is a 75-year study conducted by Harvard researchers. A study like this one is unprecedented due to its duration and connection to those they researched.
The study followed 268 males for 75 years of their life, gathering data at regular intervals.
It’s a solid research study that looks at what we value most as time goes on, how we grow and change, and what is most likely to make us happy and fulfilled.
Here is what the study ultimately discovered:
Love is REALLY all that matters.
It’s about more than money and power.
Regardless of how we begin life, we all become happier.
Connection is crucial.
Challenges can make you happier.
|
|
During this time of year, when it is the toughest, dig in with those around you. Be brave enough to let others around you share their story and live life with you. There is power in synergy.
Be bold enough to take the initiative to make connections.
Invest in those you influence, and the happiness will follow. Embrace challenges as opportunities and recognize what is most important.
LOVE, LAUGH, LIVE, and MAKE CONNECTIONS!
|
|
So Smile! It’s the secret to making the darker days brighter and this incredible life sweeter!
“There isn’t time, so brief is life for bickering’s, apologies, heart-burning, callings to account. There is only time for loving. And but an instant so to speak, for that, the good life is built with good relationships.”
– Mark Twain
Proud to be sharing this life with you!

Lovejoy Visual Arts Students Regional Scholastic Recognition
|
|
Every year our visual art students submit work to compete in Scholastic Art and Writing; one of the oldest and most highly regarded high school art competitions in the country. Students from around the country submit work to have it judged and honored regionally (we are part of a 7 state region), before selected works move on to the national level where it can be awarded scholarship, exhibition, and publication.
We are proud to announce that
53 artworks and 26 students from LJVA were awarded at this 7 state regional level!
Of the 53 award winners, 14 pieces/portfolios received Gold Keys and will compete for recognition, scholarship, and award on the national level.
LJVA is beyond proud of all of our students and the planning, intention, and work that went into this esteemed honor! If you know any of these artists please congratulate them on this prestigious award and recognition!

Reminder - Upcoming Early Release and Holiday Weekend
|
|
The elementary campouts are an opportunity for parents, students, teachers, and staff to come together with the community for a night of fun, fellowship, and service. Each elementary campus hosts its own event that provides a night of activities for the whole family and culminates with an overnight campout under the stars. In addition to building community, this event also serves as a primary fundraiser for each campus. Funds raised during the campout event ensure LISD can continue to provide our students with premier educational programs. This event truly is a great example of One Heart. One Lovejoy.
