IAWF's Orange County chapter will host a Summer Wellness Retreat on August 18th at the Boardwalk in Irvine. There will be meditation & yoga, led by Aman & Delbar Ghahreman, and Qigong led by Ramsay Mead. There will also be healing sessions led by health experts, including Dr. Foojan Zeine, Dr. Habib Sadeghi, and Dr. Sherry Sami. Join us at 9:00 am to register at the Boardwalk, 18691 Jamboree Road, Irvine, CA 92612. "Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced the appointment of Dokhi Fassihian as the new Executive Director of RSF USA. Fassihian will lead the organization's mission to protect and defend journalists working both internationally and in the United States and will oversee the operations of the Washington, DC and San Francisco bureaus of RSF.

Fassihian brings over fifteen years of experience in the field of human rights, managing multiple organizations over the span of her career, and overseeing extensive advocacy with the US government, European Union, and the United Nations. Most recently, Fassihian served as the Director of the Middle East and North Africa division at Freedom House where she was responsible for the organization's regional portfolio, strategic direction, and fundraising. 

While at Freedom House, Fassihian oversaw programs that helped free journalists in conflict zones in Yemen, trained Iranian investigative journalists, and designed strategies to combat disinformation and online harassment targeted at Iranians. She led programs to mobilize Jordan's private sector to champion women's economic empowerment, advocated against torture in Bahrain, and pressed for an independent investigation into the Khashoggi murder." Azadeh Khalili

Azadeh Khalili is an innovative social change agent and policy maker with extensive experience in government, philanthropy and the non-profit sector. She has worked for over 20 years to advance progressive policies and to create better conditions for marginalized communities, including in the field of human rights, sexual and reproductive rights, and the rights of immigrants and low-wage workers. From 2016-2017, Azadeh served as the Founding Executive Director of the New York City Commission on Gender Equity. From 2014 to 2016, she served as New York City's Executive Director of Language Access Initiatives in Mayor De Blasio's Office. Yo u can read more  here .

Since 2011 and after 20 years as an attorney practicing in California with extensive experience in effective client representation, strategic planning and creative management, Roshi has dedicated her skills and expertise to the fine arts industry. Roshi graduated from Loyola Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 1992. She then joined the Law Offices of Booth, Mitchel & Strange as a civil litigator and later teamed up with the Law Offices of Kayhan S. Shakib as partner and litigator. In January 2015, Roshi founded ADVOCARTSY, LLC, a collaborative arts platform, based in Los Angeles that elevates awareness and engagement with Iranian Contemporary art. You can read more here.

Dr. Iravani is the founder and CEO of EyeXam. EyeXam app is a patented method for self guided vision screening using a mobile device. EyeXam was featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. Prior to founding EyeXam, Dr. Iravani was the Vice President of Clinical and Professional Affairs at CooperVision, the world's second largest contact lens manufacturer. Dr. Shohre Mehvar is a licensed Acupuncturist and the owner of Newport Wellness Group. She specializes in pain management, migraine headaches, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, the acupuncture "face-lift."
