Team BC are kicking off their quest for back-to-back gold medals today, October 23, 2019 , at the 2019 Western Hockey League (WHL) Cup in Calgary, Alberta. Team BC will face off against Team Saskatchewan at 2:00pm PT at the Markin MacPhail Centre.

Team BC announced their leadership group ahead of today's game; Brayden Schuurman (Abbotsford) will lead the team as captain, while Brandon Lisowsky (Port Coquitlam), Niall Crocker (Delta) and Jace Weir (Coldtream) will back him as alternate captains.

In addition to today's game, Team BC will play two (2) round-robin games. On Thursday, October 24, 2019 Team BC will square off against Team Manitoba at 2:00pm PT and on Friday, October 25, 2019 they'll face Team Alberta at 5:00pm PT .

Quarterfinals are scheduled on Saturday, October 26, 2019, with the medal games scheduled on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Team BC won gold at the 2017 WHL Cup. Team BC competes at the Western Hockey League (WHL) Cup (formerly Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup) in non-Canada Winter Games years.  The Canada Winter Games is held every four (4) years.
